Appassionato di fotografia, patito dello sci e incredibile surfista, Jesse McCartney è sia un attore amato dalle ragazzine che un cantante apprezzato per il suo stile rock-pop. Nato il 9 aprile 1987 a New York e cresciuto a Irvington in una famiglia di artisti affermati, Jesse McCartney partecipa fin da piccolo alle rappresentazioni musicali realizzate ogni anno dai suoi genitori nel teatro della comunità locale. Questa formazione spinge Jesse a intraprendere la carriera nel mondo dello spettacolo. A soli 9 anni viene scelto per il ruolo di Louis in una produzione di Broadway e, poco dopo, entra a far parte della National Broadway Touring Company che rappresenta il lavoro teatrale "The King And I". Due anni più tardi invece interpreta il giovane Scrooge in "Christmas Carol" in scena al Madison Square Garden. A dodici anni decide di tuffarsi a capofitto anche nell’avventura musicale così diventa membro prima degli Sugar Beats (coi quali registra 4 dischi) e poi dei Dream Street, gettonatissima boy band. Il primo album del gruppo pop arriva in testa alla Billboard Indipendent Album Charts e vende milioni di copie. Le canzoni dei Dream Street piacciono molto al pubblico e alla critica e vengono utilizzate anche come colonna sonora di "Pokemon 2000" e "The Little Vampire". Il momento fortunato per Jesse però arriva quando viene selezionato per vestire i panni di Adam Chandler Jr nella popolarissima soap opera All My Children in onda durante il giorno. La sua interpretazione gli permette di guadagnarsi la nomination ai Daytime Emmy Awards del 2001 e 2002. In tutte e due le edizioni vince il premio come miglior giovane attore. La sua apparizione nel famosissimo telefilm Law & Order e altre performance con la sua band in diverse trasmissioni televisive (tra cui The Rosie O’Donnel Show e Goodmorning America) lo rendono ancora più celebre. Raggiunto il successo, Jesse abbandona i Dream Street e tenta la carriera solista. Inizia così a cantare in film come "Cinderella Story", "Stuck In The Suburbs" e "Ella Enchanted". In quest’ultimo stupisce tutti intonando una nuova versione di "Don’t Go Breaking My Heart" (Elton John) insieme alla star Anne Hathaway. Nel 2004 pubblica il suo primo album intitolato "Beautiful Soul" per la Hollywood Records. Il CD, trainato dal singolo omonimo, è una dolce fusione di sensibilità pop-rock, di motivi appassionati e di ritmi ballabili. Sempre nel 2004 Jesse torna a recitare con il ruolo di Bradin nella seguitissima serie televisiva Summerland.
